People often express misunderstanding about the nature of the HMA. While everything you need to know about us can be found in the pages of this blog, who in our busy day and age has time to read multiple blog posts. So, here is a brief summary of what we are and what we do.

The HMA was founded a little over two years ago as a public mining/ganking fleet with a thematic nod towards the beltalowda of The Expanse. At its core, our premise is very simple. We fly for each other. If you are in our fleet, we will protect you and look out for you. If you aren’t, then you are threat and will be dealt with as such. Yes, that does mean that we kill cuddly little miners and new players and all the other horrible things people say about us. But, when they turn out to be actual new players and join the fold we shower them with free ships and ISK. That is the HMA in a nutshell. However, there is more to us than just mining.

As you’ve likely noticed, I almost exclusively refer to our organization as the HMA as opposed to the Hek Mining Association. The reason for that is because, although mining in and around Hek does form the cornerstone of our operations, it is only a small part of what we do and what we aspire to do. The primary goal of the HMA is to engage and radicalize new players. We want to create an environment that both nurtures new players but also exposes them to the multi-faceted and ultra-violent gem that is Eve Online in an organic way. That is why we set up shop in the notorious 0.5 system of Hek and why we routinely court gankers and other ruffians. We are about mining and murder in equal measure.

Hopefully, this gives you a little more insight into your friendly neighborhood cartel and we look forward to seeing you in fleet.

A pleasure and a privilege as always,
-Winnie-
