Greetings and Salutations,
As many of you know, Hek and the surrounding systems are currently in a state of disarray. Multiple groups have taken it upon themselves to challenge our position as the regulatory authority in area. While we certainly welcome this challenge in accordance with the Code of Content, there are many involved who are not acting in good faith. Our code is simple; Anything that can be destroyed, should be destroyed. But, don’t be an asshole. Rather than winning support on their own merits, the people operating these organizations have chosen to rely on campaigns of misinformation, slander, and personal attack. While the definition of an asshole is subjective, I think we can all agree that this behavior qualifies.
In the spirit of transparency in which the HMA operates, I would like to take a moment to illuminate the true situation. As an NPSI mining/ganking organization, we absolutely reserve the right to grief, gank, and otherwise harass and disrupt non-HMA pilots and fleets. That being said, I don’t like to. I consider the majority of the people involved in these fleets to be good and decent, albeit misguided. The fault and the blame lies solely with those who coordinate these unsanctioned fleets. They have chosen to deliberately place their people in harm’s way. And, they continue to escalate this situation.
As of 7/25, our adversaries have gone so far as to create the Hek Mining Association corporation and Hek Mining Alliance alliance, in game. It is also our understanding that they have purchased a number of associated web domains. It their intention to use these platforms to force our channel to submit to their demands by declaring that we are unofficial. While I have no doubt that this will fail as all previous attempts have failed it does beg the question of “why?” Toward that end, I will be hosting a summit of sorts in the near future to help us get to the bottom of this needless violence and back to a more unified Hek.
