The most significant obstacle for the HMA has always been getting people to participate. I don’t necessarily mean getting people to join our fleets although that can sometimes be a challenge. What I am referring to is getting people involved and engaged in furthering the growth of our friendly neighborhood cartel. Over the past two years, our focus has been on organic growth by simply being around and doing what we do. However, I would like to take a moment today to discuss why you as an individual pilot or as a leader in a larger organization should become a part of the HMA.

Before we get into that I would like to take some time to explain what it means to be a member of the HMA. Simply put, you need to be in one of our fleets and following our Rules and Regulations. Nothing more and nothing less is required. In the past, we have dabbled with official membership rosters, dues, loyalty oaths, and requirements but those days are long gone. In other words, participating in the HMA does not require you to leave your corporation, alliance, or coalition. We are a NPSI group that exists outside of such structures.

So, what’s in it for you?

Individual Pilots

Protection from HITs. Let’s get this one out of the way. If you’re in one of our fleets, we won’t kill you and we will do our damndest to make sure no one else does either.

Free Boosts and Compression. Almost all HMA Public Mining Fleets will have some sort of boosts and Compression available to help you mine faster and more efficiently. And, although we highly encourage tipping, these boosts and compression are offered free of charge.

Earn Extra ISK. If you already have an Orca booster for your personal mining fleet, why not extend that to the HMA and see if you can’t make some extra ISK. You’re spending the charges anyways, right?

Guidance and Camaraderie. The HMA consists of both new and experienced pilots so you always have a place to ask questions or share information. To take that further, if you have a type of content that you are good at doing and want to share it, consider starting up a fleet of your own under the banner of the HMA.

Try New Things. Although our HMA Public Mining Fleets are the bread and butter of our operations, we often have pilots who arrange mission fleets, PvP Roams, wormhole excursions, and more. If you want to dip your toes into the wider Eve pool, come see what we can offer.

Organizations

Recruitment. Speaking from experience, HMA Public Fleets are a great way to advertise your corporation or alliance to potential recruits. What better way for people to see if they want to fly with you than to fly with you?

IT Infrastructure. Although larger organizations likely have already resolved this challenge, smaller organizations are free to make use of our SeAT installation and authenticated Discord to help keep track of their members and maintain secure communications.

Resource Acquisition. When you sponsor an HMA Public Fleet, you are welcome to operate your own buyback program which can provide an ample supply of resources for your industrial needs.

Fleet Coordination. The HMA makes use of a shared calendar to coordinate our fleets. This helps us to reduce redundancy while increasing our efforts toward Downtime to Downtime fleet coverage. And, when you add your events to the calendar it will appear on our Event Schedule and a corresponding Discord event is automatically created to make sure that everyone stays in the know about what is going on.

Mutual Defense. New Eden is a dangerous place. As a regular sponsor of HMA Public Fleets you are establishing relationships with other organizations that will likely come to your aid in the event you find yourself under attack.

Take the Next Step

If you like what you’re seeing just join one of our regular fleets. If you feel like taking the reins of your own fleet, check out out the Fleet Standards in our Rules and Regulations and our guide on How to Run an HMA Public Mining Fleet. If you still have questions, check out our Frequently Asked Questions or hit us up our Discord to start a conversation.
